Zombieland from the year 2009 is considered a cult hit in the horror genre. Now comes after 10 years finally the second movie Zombieland: Double holds better. But can the new film keep up with the original in terms of hardness? The age rating of the FSK is definitely in the spirit of the fans. Director Ruben Fleischer finally delivers the sequel to the horror comedy Zombieland. Together with his writing team Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick he brings us back to undead America in part 2. The original was all about Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) and Wichita (Emma Stone). The four survivors had to convalesce to a family. Only together they were able to survive the bloody post-apocalypse. In Zombieland 2: Keeping Twice Better, this family has to protect itself from its own disintegration.
As usual, fans can adjust to brutal Kloppereien with the living dead. But it's not just zombie body parts that fly through the area. It is also properly thrown back with dirty words around. To the delight of the fans, the makers have thus remained true to their Zombieland formula. So it's no wonder that the FSK missed the same verdict on the new movie. In Germany, Zombieland 2 receives an age rating of 16 years.
Apparently, the survivors in Part 2 are dealing with a whole new breed of zombie. The undead have apparently evolved and are more brutal than ever. So Columbus and his friends have to learn as well. Will Columbus come up with new survival rules? And can Tallahassee beat his Twinkies addiction after all? The trip will this time lead from the White House to the American Heartland. Of course, the four also meet other survivors who could make their lives worse.
For horror fans, the sequel to Zombieland is a long-awaited wish. Meanwhile, the blockbuster also has a German screen launch: On November 7, 2019 Zombieland 2 is in this country in the cinemas.
